October Beauty Favorites 2014!

Hello beauties, I am known to be a product junkie, so I decided to share my “October Favorites 2014.” As you may know we are in full swing of fall and I’m always in transition with my beauty products. Here are a few items listed below that I’m currently in love with.

Obey Your BodyGentle Facial Peeling Gel /Dead Sea Moisturizing Day Cream

I purchased this item last month and I can totally say it was worth the splurge. The gentle facial peeling gel exfoliates and deeply cleanses the skin in order to promote natural skin renewal. It removes oil residues, unclogs pores and helps prevent the build up of dead and dry cells on the skin re-surface.

Vivo Per Lei Dead Sea Minerals Moisturizer

The dead sea moisturizer is very soothing and light weight on the skin. This product is fragrance free, which is perfect for some of you who may have sensitive skin. Use a dime sized amount and apply it your face, trust me a little goes a long way.

 Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser

Cetaphil is is my favorite everyday facial cleanser.  It is very gentle; it doesn’t dry the skin out and it clears any dark spots or pimples before they even appear. Also leaving the skin feeling refreshed. Cetaphil doesn’t clog pores nor does it strip the skin of its natural oils. I am absolutely obsessed with it. I highly recommend that you purchase this product.  Try a small bottle (about $4) and see how you like it.

 Chanel Nail Polish

We all have our favorite go to nail polishes. This month I like Chanel’s red polish in #677 which is ohhh so sexy. I love a red nail polish, just as much as I do a red lip. Chanel’s polish is perfect especially since the holidays are just around the corner. If your searching for a true red nail polish, Chanel is it.

 Makeup Forever Foundation

I own a lot of liquid foundations, but I can say recently this has been one of my faves. Makeup Forever HD Foundation is super light weight and one pump is normally all I need. The amount of coverage you desire  will determine how many pumps you will need. This product is perfect for flash photography and everyday wear.

 Tom Ford Lipstick

Ahhhh Oh how I love Tom Ford. A friend purchased  a Tom Ford lipstick “Indian Rose” #4  for me a while back and I’ve been in love with Tom Ford lipsticks ever since. I recently purchased “Violet Fatale #17” a gorgeous pinkish/purple color, something other than red which I normally gravitate towards. Tom ford lipsticks are so creamy and last all day without having to reapply. Its a bit of a splurge, but totally worth it.

Organic Coconut Oil

There are so many benefits to using organic coconut oil. Coconut oil can be used for cooking, hair, skin, teeth just to name a few. This a a staple item used in my daily beauty regimen. When in contact with skin, the product turns into a liquid, its super light and absorbing. I also use it for the ends of my hair to prevent split ends/breakage.

I Hope you beauties enjoyed my “October Beauty Favorites 2014,” I would love to know if any of these items are incorporated in your daily beauty regimens as well.

Keeping it Casual!

After a long week of work, being that I’m a woman who is constantly in heels, it can be pretty tiring; I’m sure most of you ladies can agree. So, when I get a chance to dress casually, I take full advantage of being in comfortable clothing and shoes. Especially when I run most of my errands. On Sunday, I opted for a super comfortable and chic ensemble. The weather was perfect. I chose a black and white striped high low sweater and paired it with shiny black skinny jeans. To top off the look, I wore a black leather jacket, blue infinity scarf, white converses, a black short brimmed hat along with minimal jewelry.

7 Classic Eye Makeup Looks to Wear Now!

Hey Beauties I know its been a while since I’ve posted and wanted to share with you  something that can help jazz up your every day beauty regimens, so lets get to it. When trying to figure out how to play up your  eyes whether its for a everyday or a night on the town, whether you’re looking to simply switch it up a bit or simply try something different. Here are “7 Classic Eye Makeup Looks to wear Now”, that will have you turning heads for sure.

1. CLASSIC CAT EYE

cat eye makeup

One of the most classic eye makeup looks is the classic cat eye. While it does take some time to master the right cat eye, there are a few tricks that can help you get there. To perfect a cat eye you can use either a liquid liner for experienced drawers or a gel based liner with an angle brush for beginners. Keep the line thin and close to the inner lash line while you slowly start to create a thicker line towards the end of your lash line. Make a little wing tip from the end of your lash line and upwards on your lid. You can even use a small piece of paper pressed against the end of your eye as a guide for your wing.

2. SMOKEY EYE

SMOKEY EYE RIHANNA

A smokey eye doesn’t have to be super dark and straight out of an action hero movie. You can create a classic smokey eye with all types of colors. A Smokey eye can be achieved using all but 3 colors your highlight, transitional color and your base color. Check out my previous post Step by Step “Smokey Eye” Tutorial to learn how to achieve this look.

3. NEUTRAL EYE

NEUTRAL MAKEUP

For everyday eye makeup, remember less is more. Sometimes a simple makeup look can make a huge statement. Keeping in line with your skin color’s natural undertones really helps when choosing neutral eye shadow colors as well. To keep your makeup quite neutral stay away from frosty eye shadows.

4. SEXY SHIMMER

When you do use frost and shimmer, it’s best to go big for a night out or special event. Rose gold, yellow gold or silver on the eyelid by itself is lovely, or incorporate it with a smoke eye.

5. BARE IT ALL

NATURAL MAKEUP

One of my favorite classic eye makeups is simply the nude eye. You can wear this all day and play it up for night. Keeping it simple is key.

6. EYE CATCHING COLORS

EYE CATCHING COLOR 2

So, when you go to a makeup counter and see all of these crazy colored eye shadows, its easy to get discouraged when trying to pick out different bright shades. No need to be afraid of color it something that can fun and playful, and be mindful when choosing bright colors to go according to your skin tone.

7. FABULASHES

Fake lashes don’t always need to be for nighttime. Lashes come in all different shapes and sizes. These help accentuate the eyes and have you eyes looking fabulous. For some of you application may take time to learn how to apply it, but this a perfect look if your looking to play up your eyes without doing too much.

The Basic 4-Step Skincare Regimen

Hello beauties, ask yourself are you using the proper skin care methods to keep your face looking as youthful and flawless.  Here I explain you how to properly cleanse, exfoliate, moisturize and protect your skin with SPF 15.

Step 1: Cleansing

The key is simple here. You need to find a good cleanser that your skin responds well to, and stick to it.

You can purchase a good good cleanser at the drugstore. There’s no need to spend $40 on fancy face wash. Avoid bar soaps as they tend to dry out the skin. For you who like organic products, you can cleanse skin with milk or yogurt who knew right?

  • Be careful not to cleanse too often or you risk over cleansing skin. You really only need to wash your face daytime a quick wash to refresh and at night to remove makeup and sunscreen, which can actually clog pores.
  • If you have dry skin, consider cold cream like Pond’s, which I personally like and recommend for the cooler months. Simply apply cream, then wipe off, no water needed. If you have hard water, it can be harsh on skin.
  • To cleanse skin, most of us women prefer the water method. Use warm water to loosen dirt and clogged pores. Use a dime-sized amount of cleanser, then rinse with cool or lukewarm water.
  • Make sure to remove eye makeup with a proper makeup remover. The area around the eye is delicate so don’t pull or rub too hard. You can also use olive oil or coconut oil (holy grail beauty products) as a natural eye makeup remover.

Step 2: Exfoliating

  •  Over scrubbing and exfoliation with facial scrubs can very harsh on your face. Whether you’re looking to help soften skin texture or tone, these products should be used only once or twice a week.
  • Look for products that soothe, rather than irritate your skin.

Using a gentle scrub a few times a week helps remove dead skin cells and clears pores and dirt and oil that cream or cleansers can miss.

  • Please make sure the grains aren’t too large, this can be damaging to the skin.

Step:3 Moisturize

  • Even with oily skin types, it is important to moisturize skin daily.
  • Moisturizing keeps the skin hydrated, and helps prevent fine line and wrinkles, keeping the skin soft and smooth.
  • For you natural girls, nothing beats a good oil for your skin. You can use extra virgin coconut oil, olive oil, sweet almond oil or jojoba oil.
  • This step normally comes after your cleanser and toner.

Step:4 Protect

Protecting your skin from the sun and harsh elements may be one of the most important steps to our skin care regimens.

  • Apply sunblock or a moisturizer with SPF 15.
  • A great trick is to purchase two moisturizers: One for night and one for day that includes UV protection.
  • Don’t use moisturizers with sunscreen at night, the ingredients are not meant to be used 24/7 and can irritate skin.

Following these 4 simple steps daily, can make your skin look smoother and more youthful. I would love to hear your daily skincare routines and products that you use.
