Sooo sad to see summer go, it was a wonderful one nonetheless. Fall has officially made its debut. In NYC, the weather has been quite drastic, not much of a transition between the two seasons. I literally went from tanks & shorts to sweaters & leather jackets. Ughhh the struggle (sighs). On the plus side, this season is perfect for layering. One combo you can’t go wrong with for this fall season is “Plaid & Leather” paired together. I love combining these two together as the casualness of the plaid balances out the polished look of leather.

IMG_20151006_093110I decided to pair a men’s thrifted plaid top, layering it with my faux leather jacket, along with a DIY black pair of skinny jeans. Too complete the look I wore high heeled booties and a wide brimmed fedora hat.IMG_20151007_041605

Culottes 3 Ways!

Ahhhh, Hello my lovelies. Did you miss me? Sorry I have been on a major hiatus lately, and yes I know its been a while since I’ve last posted. No worries, I’m back in action now. Culottes are huge right now, and to be quite honest, they’re not particularly flattering on every body. The key to wearing culottes is balancing the proportions of your top and bottom half — because culottes are so voluminous, you could wear them tucked in or with a cropped top. I’m all about comfort and finding new ways to wear basic pieces. Culottes have been my current faves, their so chic yet so versatile. How many pairs of pants do you own that are casual, trendy yet appropriate for the office and a night out? FYI, these pants are great for transitioning into summer to fall. Below, I have demonstrated 3 ways to style culottes.

5 Wearable Runway Makeup Trends for Spring 2015!

Even though we are still bundled up and wrapped up in winter gear it is never too early to take in the some of the new hottest Spring 2015 makeup/beauty trends. These new trends are already on the minds of fashion designers and magazine editors. These spring makeup looks most definitely caught my attention on the fashion runways and can simply be be worn in a woman’s every day to day beauty routine . Plus, practicing now will get you ready for when spring time emerges. Here are a few trends to watch out for this upcoming Spring 2015 season.

BOLD LIP SPRING 2015Pastel shades should not always be the go to colors for Spring. Instead, deep shades dominated the runways this year. Try berry, plum, rich red or red-orange shades for the lips. A bold statement lips is always my favorite go to.

SHADES OF BROWN SPRING 2015Brown makeup offers subtle enhancements to the face, especially for a warm complexion. One of the latest trends for the eyes this season is varying shades of the brown family, which keeps this color from getting boring. Try bronze, taupe, sand and even touches of shimmering gold. Bronze skin is also in.

TOM FORD SMOKEY EYE SPRING 2015Smokey Eyes always seem to return to trendy lists, with no exception this Spring. Some designers made them extra smudgy or only added the smoky effect to the outer corners of each eye. Heavy eyeliner is also in, especially with extended wings and tips, or with thick lines. Choose black or even white liner to play up your look.

NATURAL BEAUTY SPRING MAKEUPAlthough some makeup trends are in, low maintenance girls will love that wearing no makeup is also a top trend this season. This trend can include wearing subtle makeup that evens and enhances, or wearing no makeup at all. This is a perfect look for everyday makeup look  if your in a rush or simply want to go bare.

BLUE CAT EYES SPRING 2015A Cat Eye is always a great makeup a accessory, let alone a blue statement eyes made a huge comeback on the runways last season. Like bold brows before it, blue eyeshadow is destined to become a fashion week beauty staple. It complements every skin tone, and it looks just as good in real life as on the runway. If your daring enough this would be the perfect go to look to for a statement.

Whether your going bare or rocking a dark smokey eye these Spring 2015 makeup looks are all the rage and are perfect for on and off the runway. I hope you beauties enjoyed my favorite “5 Wearable Makeup Trends for Spring 2015.”

Hello December!

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday week/weekend. We are officially in December. We went through a week where the weather was frigid. Seems as if the weather may have had a change of heart being that its hit high 50’s here in New York City. No complaints here on my end, I am far from a winter baby. So my outfit choice I decided to play with a bit of color ahhh yes a shocker I know, being that I’m always in black. Here I kept my outfit quite comfortable yet chic.

MOD OOTDIm all about comfort, so here I’m wearing a cream long sleeve button down topped with a mustard yellow crop. For my bottoms I wore a pair of faded skinny jeans, with a chunky platformed boot. Since the weather was a bit warmer I topped off the look with a short belted faux fur jacket, and for a bit of flair I added a cheetah print faux fur head band. This was the perfect outfit to kick off December. 😉

Keeping it Casual!

After a long week of work, being that I’m a woman who is constantly in heels, it can be pretty tiring; I’m sure most of you ladies can agree. So, when I get a chance to dress casually, I take full advantage of being in comfortable clothing and shoes. Especially when I run most of my errands. On Sunday, I opted for a super comfortable and chic ensemble. The weather was perfect. I chose a black and white striped high low sweater and paired it with shiny black skinny jeans. To top off the look, I wore a black leather jacket, blue infinity scarf, white converses, a black short brimmed hat along with minimal jewelry.

Fashion Finds Leather Haul

It’s evident that the fall season is in full bloom, and we are all adding new items to our wardrobes. The items that you must have during this season is leather! This weekend, I was out in East Village in the lower east side of NYC for lunch and I decided to to walk around the area. Since I occasionally thrift from time to time, I decided to browse through the No Relations Vintage store. I purchased two amazing black leather skirts: a knee length and a mini skirt for only $20. Shortly after, I went to century 21 and I was in search for new fall items. Then, I stumbled upon this super simple and chic 100% lambskin leather jacket by Twenty8Twelve, a fashion brand from London, which I am in love with. I couldn’t believe the original price for the jacket was $600, and I purchased it for $150; this was a deal I couldn’t pass. These basic leathers are perfect for transitional and layering pieces. Totally in love with my new purchases, and I can’t wait to showcase my personal style in them.

SS15 New York Fashion Week Looks to Wear Now!

This week, Lincoln Center has been filled with tons Fashion and Beauty. With New York Fashion Week in full swing, I can’t help but think of ways to incorporate these trends into the current season’s style. No matter if you’re a high-fashion lover or just simply love trying new things, you can use street style, runways and backstage beauty as inspiration for creating your own looks. No matter what season it is you always room to try new things to fit your own personal style. Here are a few trends that I am currently loving from the SS15 runways shows which, which can be incorporated in this fall’s current beauty and fashion trends.

The ”No Makeup” Makeup Look

The whole “no make-up“, make-up trend has seriously upped its game; from a flawless complexion to a real glowing offering, the future’s looking bright for next season’s skin. This look  honestly can be worn all year round. There isn’t anything more striking and refreshing than dewy (dampened) beautiful skin. Who doesn’t want to be seen sporting a fresh face?

(Nars) Lead Makeup Artist Diane Kendal stated the look as, “Strong and energetic… the look is clean with moisturized skin paired with accentuated highlighting and contouring to bring out the strength of the girl’s features.” shown at Alexander Wang SS15 NYFW runaway show.

Makeup artist, Pep Gay, for Mac Cosmetics describes his inspiration for the makeup look: ” We wanted the girls to feel like queen of the Adriatic”. The makeup reflected that by looking clean and simple yet polished and elegant.

To achieve these minimal “no makeup” makeup looks, you will need a just a few products listed below.

  1. Light Foundation- (Face and Body or BB Cream), depending on the your skin type some of you may need more coverage than others. Conceal any blemishes before applying your foundation or bb cream using a light hand. (dont forget to moisturize and prime skin before foundation application).
  2. Concealer- Concealing helps brighten up under the center of the face and attracts light giving you the appearance of looking more awake.
  3. Setting Powder- use a translucent powder in the center of the face to keep your foundation and concealer in place to ensure it last all day.
  4. LipGloss- Top off the look with a lip glass or tinted lip balm a sheer pink would be suitable.  Be sure to match the shade closest to your skin tone.

 Low Pony Tail

Slick laid back pony tails is all the rage all over  NYC this season. The low ponies were spotted at Alexander Wang, Thakoon  and Prabal Gurung runways shows and were some of the chicest hairstyles we’ve seen. This look is very stylish and simplistic, yet quite easy to achieve. The low pony tail  can be worn in many different ways to compliment your wardrobe. If your looking for a hairstyle that you can either dress up or dress down this is definitely the look.

To achieve the slicked back “low pony tail” depending on your hair texture a mousse or pomade would applied to the hair, brushed back and secured with a ponytail holder (be sure to make sure your edges are laying flat). This next step is optional if you going for a polished low pony tail grab a small amount of hair and wrap it around the ponytail holder (as seen in pic #3 above) and secure with a bobby pin and voila there you have achieved a perfect effortless quick and easy hairstyle.

The White Blazer

Who says you cant wear white after labor day? In my opinion fashion rules are meant to be broken. Public School’s Designers Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne have created a clothing of over sized androgynous look for women and a key piece that stood out to me which was quite simple, was the “White Blazer”, which can be worn for both fall and spring/summer. This is a key piece that must be incorporated in your fall wardrobe , it can be worn so many ways. For Fall this can be worn with leather pants and a basic top for a sophisticated edge or even with a printed dress (colors) optional.  Although I personally would prefer black but this just gives an idea of different ways to play up your look.

Here is the  the “white blazer” with a loose top and a wide legged trousers for a more casual look as seen on the Public School’s SS15 runway show .
