Miami Getaway/ Cotton 24 hour Runway Show Recap!

Over the weekend, I decided to have a quick getaway with my girlfriends and also attended the Cotton 24 hour Runway Show in South Beach Miami, Florida. This trip couldn’t have come at a better time, being that the weather is cooler here now in NYC brrr.  My Miami getaway trip was perfect. I got to lay on the beach, ate at fabulous restaurants, partied and got to be apart of Cottons 24 hour runway show. Cotton’s 24 Hour Runway Show took place Friday, November 7 on the corner of 8th street and Ocean Drive, and with it comes an entire fleet of celebrities and fashion bloggers all celebrating America’s favorite material. Giuliana and Bill Rancic, Jason Kennedy, and Michael Yo were hosts and Olivia Palermo dished out some much sought after style tips. Some of the brands styling included Wildfox, Anthropologie, Bloomingdale’s, French Connection, Lilly Pulitzer, and Banana RepublicPeace Love World, Style Saves, Perry Ellis, and Santika Design just to name a few. Here is a recap of the events taken place over the weekend.

The weather was perfect, I got a beautiful golden tan listened to music and relaxed what other way to start amazing weekend getaway. I was a bit sick coming on this trip, but that did not stop me from enjoying the beautiful weather. As for my swimwear I wore a one piece bathing suit from American Apparel and HM accessories.

Miami Fashion Hause OOTD 1Here is my day outfit,I wore the first day into my trip. I chose something cute and very comfortable. My romper was black with a laced neck line. I paired that with my black floppy hat and black espadrilles. The whole outfit from head to toe was HM, and my purse is an irreversible tote bag from Urban Outfitters. I personally love love love this bag super spacious, simple yet chic.

October Beauty Favorites 2014!

Hello beauties, I am known to be a product junkie, so I decided to share my “October Favorites 2014.” As you may know we are in full swing of fall and I’m always in transition with my beauty products. Here are a few items listed below that I’m currently in love with.

img1414632345530

Obey Your BodyGentle Facial Peeling Gel /Dead Sea Moisturizing Day Cream

I purchased this item last month and I can totally say it was worth the splurge. The gentle facial peeling gel exfoliates and deeply cleanses the skin in order to promote natural skin renewal. It removes oil residues, unclogs pores and helps prevent the build up of dead and dry cells on the skin re-surface.

Vivo Per Lei Dead Sea Minerals Moisturizer

The dead sea moisturizer is very soothing and light weight on the skin. This product is fragrance free, which is perfect for some of you who may have sensitive skin. Use a dime sized amount and apply it your face, trust me a little goes a long way.

 Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser

Cetaphil is is my favorite everyday facial cleanser.  It is very gentle; it doesn’t dry the skin out and it clears any dark spots or pimples before they even appear. Also leaving the skin feeling refreshed. Cetaphil doesn’t clog pores nor does it strip the skin of its natural oils. I am absolutely obsessed with it. I highly recommend that you purchase this product.  Try a small bottle (about $4) and see how you like it.

 Chanel Nail Polish

We all have our favorite go to nail polishes. This month I like Chanel’s red polish in #677 which is ohhh so sexy. I love a red nail polish, just as much as I do a red lip. Chanel’s polish is perfect especially since the holidays are just around the corner. If your searching for a true red nail polish, Chanel is it.

 Makeup Forever Foundation

I own a lot of liquid foundations, but I can say recently this has been one of my faves. Makeup Forever HD Foundation is super light weight and one pump is normally all I need. The amount of coverage you desire  will determine how many pumps you will need. This product is perfect for flash photography and everyday wear.

 Tom Ford Lipstick

Ahhhh Oh how I love Tom Ford. A friend purchased  a Tom Ford lipstick “Indian Rose” #4  for me a while back and I’ve been in love with Tom Ford lipsticks ever since. I recently purchased “Violet Fatale #17” a gorgeous pinkish/purple color, something other than red which I normally gravitate towards. Tom ford lipsticks are so creamy and last all day without having to reapply. Its a bit of a splurge, but totally worth it.

Organic Coconut Oil

There are so many benefits to using organic coconut oil. Coconut oil can be used for cooking, hair, skin, teeth just to name a few. This a a staple item used in my daily beauty regimen. When in contact with skin, the product turns into a liquid, its super light and absorbing. I also use it for the ends of my hair to prevent split ends/breakage.

I Hope you beauties enjoyed my “October Beauty Favorites 2014,” I would love to know if any of these items are incorporated in your daily beauty regimens as well.

Step by Step “Smokey Eye” Tutorial

Everyone always requests different makeup looks. One makeup look that I’m frequently asked to do is the “Smokey Eye.” The smokey eye is both sexy and classic. It caters to anyone with light or dark eyes and it can be worn for both formal or casual occasions. It is the perfect complement to any look desired. My friends and clients said they have tried the “Smokey Eye” look but ended up looking like a panda. Yikes! I know it takes a bit of practice, but the smokey eye is super easy to achieve. Just follow my step by “Step by Step guide and see how flawless your smokey eye turns out. Believe me, you will thank me later.

A Step-by-Step Guide to a Classic Winged Eye Liner!

classic winged liner

In the 1950s and 1960s the cat-eye, winged eyeliner look became extremely prominent. Glamour icons such as Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Brigitte Bardot and Andy Warhol’s muse Edie Sedgwick rocked the winged eyeliner. The trend is extremely popular today  with many of us favoring the look. The cat eye is something I personally  incorporate in my daily makeup routine. I get a lot of requests on how I achieve my makeup looks at times, and the winged liner being one of them.  I know it can be quite challenging to create a winged liner as a beginner. So if your a huge fan of this look such as my self, and would love to amp up your beauty regimen. Then follow my step by step guide on how to achieve the Classic Winged Eye Liner below.

Lets Get Started:

Things You Will Need:

  1. Gel, Liquid, Pencil Liner  (Black/Brown)
  2. Two Angled Liner Brushes
  3. Concealer (1 to 2 shades lighter than skin tone)

Products  I used to achieve Classic Winged Liner:

  1. Mac Studio Finish Concealer $19
  2. Mac Fluidline Gel Liner $16
  3. Sigma Angled Eye Liner Brush E65 $14
  4. Real Techniques Angled Eye Liner Brush Starter Set (Set of 5) $18.00

To begin, apply a small amount of concealer and/or eyeshadow primer to the eyelid and around the eye. This eliminates any redness and creates a nice base for the liner. Then set with a matte eye shadow that matches closest to your skin tone or a loose translucent powder.

Take one of your angled brushes and dip it into your gel/cream eyeliner. Apply a small amount to the brush, and then use the back of your hand as a canvas to mold the tip of the brush into a sharp point. This method also helps to warm the product before applying to to the lid. When using liquid and/or shadow this step does not apply, but the technique for winged liner application remains the same.

Winged liner 2

Using your brush, make a line from the outer corner of your eye. This line will determine the size of your ‘flick’. Pull your eye taut to achieve a smooth line.

Winged Liner 3

Go from the inner corner of your eyelid and apply the liner close to your lash line. Again, pull your eye taut to get a smooth, straight line.

Connect the eyeliner that goes along the top of your eye, to the line you created from the outer corner of your eye.

Winged Liner 4

Fill in any gaps that may be visible with some more eyeliner. Use small strokes, as they are easier to control than big, thick strokes. If you feel that you need a sharper flick, or you have made a mistake – use a clean angled brush with some concealer as an eraser.

Winged Liner 5

Apply your favorite mascara. Add lashes and or kohl eyeliner to the waterline (optional)

Winged Liner 8

There you have it, a perfect Classic Winged Liner
